VIEWR gives friends a screen to what you're doing in VR
Virtual reality experiences can be incredible, but they are often isolated. So VIEWR is a new tool that allows your friends to see what you're doing in RV.
The #include team in Brisbane, Australia, created VIEWR (which the company spells as VIEWR) for RV developers to integrate this capability into their games, making RV experiences more social and shared.
There is usually no way for a bystander to see what you see while using an RV headset.
Now VIEWR is creating a window into that RV world so that a friend can see what is happening.

VIEWR creates a position-tracking streaming experience for the viewer, and is available as a Unity software Development Kit (SDK) with a simple application programming interface (API) that developers can include in a way Free in your RV games.

VIEWR allows you to view the RV world from a spectator's perspective using a phone or other mobile device. It is not a view with headphones, but a completely separate view, like a camera or a portal that a spectator can hold to see what is happening in the RV space.
This allows your playmate to have a sense of size, scale and position of things in the virtual world and understand where they are, which makes it a very powerful shared experience.

VIEWR has two parts that communicate with each other: a mobile viewfinder and a PC host running in the RV game.

With a tracker, VIEWR can work on low-end devices because it is transmitting the game from the host, something that is not guaranteed for other systems that create mobile versions of the host game for spectators.
It is a single application that can interact with multiple programs, which makes it the integral application to see in VR.
VIEWR is available today for everyone as a mod for games written in Unity Engine.
Ultimately, the solution will be added to the games using the VIEWR SDK, allowing you to view from the box.
The VIEWR API also allows the input of tactile and sensor data from the device, enabling interactivity between viewers and the player for an asymmetric game in case developers opt to support it.
The company has two employees and was founded in June 2018 with 100,000 Australian dollars. Rivals include Vactual (where you speculate with others using your own VR headphones, or projecting a camera to 2d videos) and MixCast of Blueprint Reality.
